A PADI-certified diver with a knack for taking risks for the perfect underwater images, Jason has been a GoPro winner multiple times and graced the scientific community with his photography for research and conservation purposes. He also has vast experience in underwater tagging of Tiger Sharks, Hammerhead sharks, Giant Mantas, and Galapagos sharks which have been particularly helpful for various researchers in learning their habits and migration patterns. Jason accredits his interaction with the scientific community and the majestic underwater world for his passion for preserving nature. He is a marine life advocate who has assisted local governments in Mexico and Costa Rica in preserving natural areas against overfishing. He has also partnered with Jim Abernethy on film projects and conservation campaigns.
Jason provides quality instruction to inexperienced divers to make sure they have the best first impression of the diving experience. He believes in living life to the fullest, and for him, that means being in search of the next move that fills you with pure excitement. It’s all about the thrill of exploring — even if it means swimming alongside sharks! And the best thing is that he encourages others to experience the world in the same way— with boundless courage and a yearning for purpose.
His enthusiasm for adventure began early in life and ranged from motorsports to watersports, skiing, snowboarding, diving, and much more. He is always seeking a new challenge to conquer and a new world to explore. Whether it is teaching others how to dive or sharing his photography talent of underwater wonders with the world, his love for the sea is visible through his efforts and commitment to marine conservation.
Today, Jason resides near Austin, Texas, and is the owner of Heritage Body and Frame, one of the top collision centers in the greater Austin area. He’s also a proud dad and openly admits that fatherhood gave him inspiration, motivation, and a fresh perspective on life. It has also opened his eyes to save the planet in its finest form for future generations.
While every path or journey he took was highly challenging, Jason never lets the feeling of failure sink in. His sheer determination and belief in self abilities have enabled him to sail through some of the most demanding areas, and with every victory, it has only become stronger.
